Well ...

It's too easy. Not enough different blocks, that plus the magical ones means the player can hardly lose if he plays randomly. I lost at level 11 when I couldn't press the keys fast enough to reach the edges of the of the screen (without even looking at the colors) ... On first try. And I'm bad at that kind of game.

Graphics and sounds were ok tho ...

Nice dice game

I do have a few complains with the rules tho ...

- Normal mode can last forever, no guarantee it ever ends
- Survival mode only take chips from you
- Tournament mode stresses how unfair to take the second place is

What I'd suggest:

- Normal mode: 2 options. Add a round limit or ask for antes (that ALL the players would have to pay). Or give the two options.
- Survival mode: remove it.
- Tournament mode: Use the ante system here too, r rounds means 3^r players. Each time 3 players are out (on all tables), rebuild tables with the remaining players (not only the ones who came out first, very much like poker tournaments). To be 100% fair you should let them duel as they wait but I guess it's not that necessary.

The flash itself was ok, with some kind of retro feeling and I liked it, good job!

Xopods responds:

Survival mode is for people who want to try to get a "high score," as opposed to just winning or losing an individual match. If you're better than the AI, you'll beat Normal mode most of the time, unless you get very unlucky in a big pot. I suppose I could keep track of % of games won, which would be a measure of player consistency...

However, the point of Survival is to measure your strength in terms of $ per round. To last a long time in that, it's not enough to simply win more money than you lose - you need to master more advanced strategies in terms of building large pots when you have an advantage, in order to maximize profits.

Nice little game

Entertaining. There's no much to say but to those who didn't try it yet: "What are you waiting for?!".

I don't usually give 10 stars because it wouldn't mean anything when I do. Well, I wasn't about to this time either but you get +1 bonus thanks to Bella's voice acting!

A piece of art

They way the player can interact with sounds and graphics is nicely handed. The all thing looks cute, profesional and finished to the last detail.

Gameplay is simple but not repetitive.

Graphics are a pleasure to the eye, well animated and react nicely to the player's decisions.

Sounds are on par with the graphics, including for the interactive part wich is quite rare in a flash.

Level design is nicely done too, but maybe for two points:
- The keylock level, numbers are just a distraction and all the player has to do is to scroll in the indicated direction until it moves to the next lock.
- The hardest level is the first one (to me) wich makes little sense.
However this flash is more about a fun and inovative experience than to "beat the game" so it's alright.

Keep up the good work!

ps: Forgive my bad spelling, I'm not a native english speaker.

Fun

I'm not fond of that type of game, have hard time to enjoy those more than 5 mins. This one got me hooked tho, good work!

Nice.

I really like this game. I'd like to see some new structures if you add another sequel tho ;-)

To the players:

I did ran some tests, and did some maths. Here are the more interresting facts, mostly about energy management.

Solar stations: lvl 2 solar stations are more efficient than lvl 1 and 3. They provide 233 energy per minute (epm) for 400 minerals (m) instead of 100epm for 200m (lvl 1) and 333epm for 600m (lvl 3).

Mineral miners: Lvl 1 and 2 both need 25 energy per minute. That's a hidden cost around 45 minerals (1/9 of a lvl 2 solar station) ... Taking this into acount, a lvl 2 miner is almost 20% more efficient than a lvl 1. As you might have guessed, a solar station lvl 2 is enough to support 9 miners, and you probably won't have much more of them (if they are lvl 2 that is).

Pulsars: When fighting non stop, a lvl 1 needs 70 energy per minute (epm), a lvl 2 needs 200epm, a lvl 3 needs 400epm. To put it another way, one solar station lvl 2 is enough to run 3 of those pulsars at lvl 1, only 1 at lvl 2 and you'll need 2 of those stations to run a lvl 3. Think carefully before upgrading.

THEL: Lvl 1 are really weak, you shouldn't build one if you can't afford the upgrade to lvl 2 quickly after. The upgrade to lvl 3 is worth it too but not as vital. One solar station lvl 2 is enough for a lvl 3 THEL when fighting waves. It gets more expensive against mother ships or other things with lot of HPs, but since your pulsar will most likely be out of range during those fights you shouldn't need additional stations.

Missile Launcher: Each missile cost 5 minerals, all the version have a 10s cooldown, 400 minerals (m) for 1 missile every shot, 900m for 2 and 1900m for 4. Damages increase with level too. Lvl 1 are more efficient against waves while lvl 3 are more efficient against huge ships (only small differences tho).

Conclusion: If you didn't know yet, you can build/upgrade when the game is paused. Doing so and using the above figures you should easly be able to make sure you have enough solar stations. Also, don't forget that to upgrade or build something costs a lot of energy ... Try not to build too many structures at a same time, especialy when fighting.

Nice :)

But as some other said, upgrades lvl 2 aren't that worthy but beam strength. But maybe that's because it's the way a Luis game should be ;-)

When I realized it's better to use your beams EARLY, and not when running out of speed, I beat the game in 7 days (getting all level 1 upgrades and then only beam strength).

A nice little game.

Nice :)

Enjoyed that game, was a bit too easy tho. Unlike Dailen I maxed str, def and rep (0 agi 0 speed) but still took me at most 30s to beat last level.

Thanks a lot man!

Thanks a lot really! I'm a T-RPG fan, and your game is a fun one to play :)

I'm not that blind tho, and I'm sure you aren't either ... There's a few "details" that bothered me enough so I won't try to finish it (let alone replay from scratch). And yes, "details", nothing that you can't deal with with a ridiculously low amount of effort compared to what you already put into this.

Before getting started with those points, I'd like to point out I made it up to half way in the second city (the one in the desert) and my characters are around level 10. I didn't finish it as I ran in a succession of crash level bugs (mostly due to poison). I'd also like to thank you again for that game, and I really look forward for your next one (or this one if you decide to put some more efforts into it).

I/ General Ideas

- Speed ... This point has been raised a lot in other reviews already and I really agree. In game menus should pop in and out faster than that. The same goes for AI actions. You could also prevents a few unecessary clics, for example if I move then attack I'll get to choose a direction to face with my character before attacking (which is useless since attacking will change the direction that character was facing).
- Customisation ... Kinda sad the player doesn't get to toy around with his characters more than that. It was fine that way, but this kind of feature (to allow the player to build his characters in many different ways) is often at the core of a T-RPG. That's one of the things this game need to be promoted from "nice time waster" to "solid game".

Other than those 2 major points, you really did an awesome job.

II/ Glitches

Here is a list of various glitches I found. Since I didn't get to experiment with everything in the game I probably missed a lot but this is what someone who's starting to play right now will probably run into in his first few hours of gaming:

If you kill the last monster with poison damages you'll run in a lot of bugs like:
- No lvl up even if you have the exp (will have to win some exp in next map to trigger the level up event again)
- Battle report displayed twice
- Possibly untargetable monster on next map. Happened to me once, wasn't able to figure exactly how, but I'm sure to kill with poison was involved as that monster took poisons damages out of nowhere at the start of the map.
- If that wasn't the last monster (that you killed with poison), your character (supposely) next to play will loose its action (can still move) or its all turn.

It's hard at time to move in some squares, with sprites in the way. At times, I had to give up and change my plan.

3 or 4 times I had to restart everything, the menus being completly messed up. I don't know what caused this.

When looking at your status, if you have more than 1000 exp (4 digits), it doesn't display correctly. Extra digits after the 8th one (including the "/" symbol") don't fit in the screen.

Neat.

Very very nice work, that's the kind of game I was looking for long :D

However, there's something I'd like you to confirm:
Once you done with tutorial, you have to clear "boss rush" mode. Correct? From the look of the last (?) fight featuring the 3 bosses it's the end of that first chapter. Correct? I wasn't able to beat them tho, it looks way too hard imho.

Or there is a real "storyline" mode? I mean, there's a lot of battlechips and piece of equipements that are yet to be found, but that's probably mean to appear in a sequel, right?

So my suggestion is to make it clear what part of the game is available at the moment, and make that last fight a bit easier ... Looks impossible to beat without relying on bugs.

Thank you for your submission.

ChamberACR responds:

Thank you Khann for the feedback. To be clear, this is ONLY the training level and boss rush mode. As you can tell from the comments below, there's a lot of confusion even with a detailed tutorial. Before we dive into the story, I wanted to make sure everybody had a chance to get confortable with the game. SO, long story short, the "story" portion of the game will pick up as soon as I'm done cleaning up all the little bugs and release part 2.
